Exterior Residential Project

This residential project in Porirua presented a common challenge for Wellington homes: an aging exterior needing more than just a quick repaint. The client wanted to preserve the mid-century look of the home while ensuring decades of protection from the region's harsh coastal weather.

The existing paint was heavily flaked and failing, making thorough preparation the most critical step.

Our Solution: Plastering, Preparation, and Premium Paint

Our process focused on restoring the integrity of the weatherboards and foundation before the first coat of paint was even applied:

  1. Full Strip-Back & Repair: We erected full scaffolding and systematically stripped away all failing paint. This exposed the underlying weatherboards, allowing us to inspect the condition.

  2. Specialist Plastering & Gib Stopping: Our plastering team patched surface imperfections, filled gaps, and sealed all joints, creating a perfectly smooth and stable surface ready for priming.

  3. Primer Application: We applied a high-quality, specialized primer designed to deeply penetrate and seal the porous, older surfaces, maximizing adhesion for the topcoats.

  4. Exterior Painting: Using Resene paint, we applied two topcoats in a fresh colour scheme.

The result is a stunning, refreshed home that looks vibrant and is protected by a finish designed to last for many years to come.
